This past week our RMG coaches hit Dallas, New York, and Chicago to assist up-and-coming broadcast journalists create and refine their demo reels. While each of our students were already pros in the making,  our seasoned RMG coaches we were able to take their skill to the next level and really capture their broadcast prowess on the field.

RMG coach Alex Boyer was on the field in Dallas, Texas with Madeleine Hall, a 2011 graduate from the University of Virginia. Madeleine came to us already an experienced worker in the field, having worked with major media corporations such as NBC and CBS, the latter of which she was a Broadcast Associate for two daily shows. Although Madeleine’s professional experience has landed her an internship at KTEN News in Denison, Texas, with the help of Coach Alex of Fox 4 Dallas, Madeleine was able to craft an impressive reel that reflects her equally as impressive resume. Not only did Coach Alex guide Madeleine through the crafting of her reel, but he also provided her with insider tips on how to pitch stories effectively and how to secure and excel in interviews.

“Reel Media Group is a first class service,” Madeleine attests. With the guidance of Stephanie, Coach Alex, and RMG, Madeleine went from a good broadcaster to a great one, and she affirms that her experience was nothing short of “top notch.” Madeleine’s experience with RMG just goes to show that there is always room for improvement — regardless of how much experience you may have — and that RMG can help bring you one step closer to perfection!

Ann Lauricello of New York verifies Madeleine’s commendation of Reel Media Group, exclaiming, “I had a fantastic experience and could not have asked for more helpful, professional partners along the way.” A graduate of CU Boulder and a student veteran of MSNBC, Ann herself is no stranger to the professional field of journalism. Her two year stint as solo morning show anchor in Cheyenne, Wyoming earned her the “Anchor of the Year” award by the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters in 2010, followed by a three year run as anchor on a Tucson morning show. That didn’t mean Ann couldn’t use some assistance from RMG to even further enhance her broadcast know-how! Ann worked with Coach Tony Caputo of News 12 New Jersey to fine-tune her demo reel, which you can check out for yourself below, and with RMG’s assistance, she will reenter the world of broadcast journalism equipped to take on the big leagues!

Finally, RMG Founder and former field reporter Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel went to Chicago to guide aspiring broadcaster Elizabeth Crenshaw. Elizabeth is a producer in Lansing, Michigan who wants to transition into an on-air position. Stephanie and Elizabeth hit the streets of Chi-Town to shoot interviews and standups for her demo reel, and had a blast while at it! Check out a behind-the-scenes look of what RMG does to help guide our clients to broadcast savvy in Stephanie’s Snapchat story below.

That was our week here at RMG! We will be shooting in seven cities the last weekend of every month — New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Dallas, Miami, and Chicago — so what are YOU waiting for? We could be coming to you next!
