Reel Media Group wrapped up the month of July with a busy weekend on the East Coast, shooting reels in both Miami and New York. Despite being on opposite ends of the country, there is one thing that our two RMG students have in common – both are currently looking to enter into the field of broadcasting from their respective fields of work. Just goes to show that it’s never too late to venture into broadcasting if that’s what you’re truly passionate about!

Maria Peterson came to Reel Media in New York this past weekend, seeking a career change from the world of finance, though the reel she shot with us in the Big Apple was not her first. After committing to the decision to switch careers, Maria found that she needed assistance from industry professionals to really refine and spice up her reel… That’s where RMG Coach Tony Caputo came in! Thanks to Tony, Maria was able to create a reel that would surpass the standard demo reel and hopefully launch her career in broadcasting.

Meanwhile, RMG Coach Christina Nicholson of Media Maven was lending her expertise to Danielle Stedman, an Internet celebrity by her own right! Danielle’s journey to broadcasting began in her birthplace of Jamaica, W.I. and continues today as she resides in Miami as a fashion, music, and lifestyle blogger. Danielle’s resume of experience is nothing short of impressive, as not only is she a correspondent for celebrity news and style site CocoaFab and a YouTuber, she’s also the founder of her own blog, DaniRenee21. Danielle came to Reel Media already equipped to take on the media industry – but that didn’t mean she couldn’t use some help on her demo reel and some pointers on how to break the broadcast biz!
