Happy Monday Everyone!

It’s been a long weekend for our friends in Florida who have been reporting on the Orlando Shooting.  Our hearts go out to everyone – journalists, the victims and their families.

We want to start this week with a little throwback.

As you (should) know, every Thursday Reel Media Group hosts a social media takeover across all of our social media platforms (see Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram here), during which one of our RMG vets takes us behind the scenes to show us a day in the life of a reporter. Not only is it an awesome opportunity for aspiring broadcasters to get a glimpse at the job while someone’s actually doing it in the field, but it’s also a fun time for people we’ve worked with to showcase how their hard work has paid off.

Last week we had Abigael Jaymes join us on Instagram and Twitter to give us a look at what it’s like to be a Multimedia Journalist in Quincy, Illinois.

Abigael came to Reel Media Group in 2013, attending one of our demo reel bootcamps in New York City. With our help, she created a reel that captured the attention of KHQA, a CBS-affiliated television station that covers the Tri-State area of Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri. As an MMJ, she writes, edits, and reports all of her own stories – check out the gallery below to get a glimpse of her day, and visit us on Instagram and Twitter to learn more about what Abigael does on our Reel Takeover!
